A Heritage Reclaimed, A Legacy Built
We are parents to three beautiful young daughters, and like many children of immigrants, we spent years hiding parts of ourselves to fit in. Growing up Nigerian, we learned to downplay our heritage, to blend in, to make ourselves smaller.
But becoming parents changed everything.
We surround our girls with books and shows that celebrate their beauty as Black children, teaching them to love their skin and know their worth. Yet we realised something was missing: the Nigerian piece of their identity. How could we pass on a heritage we ourselves had spent so long pushing away?
Neither my husband nor I have been back to Nigeria in over 15 years. Our daughters have never been at all. But as we began seeing our culture through their eyes—through love instead of shame—we discovered something breathtaking. The vibrant fabrics, the rich traditions, the artistry and strength woven into our heritage. It was beautiful. It had always been beautiful.
This brand was born from that awakening.
We created this online store to give our daughters what we ne
ver had: the gift of wearing their heritage with pride from day one. Every piece we offer connects them to their roots and shows them that building something beautiful from who you are is possible, no matter what anyone says.
